I finally took some time to do some jewelry work again. (I know, run in fear!) It's a wonderful way to defrag after a long day of commission or comic work. These two beauties might be my favorite two pieces. . . like ever. I am hesitant to sell them. But this is supposed to be a self-sustaining hobby, and if I keep everything I make, I will go broke :( Besides, I'm way too much of a tomboy to wear necklaces much, and on the farm, they'd get ruined.
Anyway in short, this pair of necklaces *is* for sale. I'm taking them with me to RMFC in a few weeks to put up in the art show. If someone here on FA *really* wants 'em, feel free to make an offer. . . but I'm hoping they'll sell well in the art show, so. . . I'd have to really think about it.
These necklaces are strung on leather cording, with glass, wooden, plastic, and pewter beads. The really stunning beads there are murano-style glass lampwork beads, the same style of beads used in pandora jewelery.
Thanks for looking!

Hmmmm. Would you consider making a wind-themed necklace that this guy might wear?:

Thank you!
I was wondering, do you use a clasp with the leather cord or leave the necklaces as tie offs? Do you use a tray to pre-plan patterns or just design as you go?
For that matter where do you get the leather cord? All the hobby shops around where I live don't have it. x.x It looks so thin but beautiful to be able to fit some of the smaller beads.
Actually, if it's not asking to much, where do you get the murano style beads? I can never find any matches, just online random assortments.
I love this hobby and mostly do it to make gifts for friends. Your works are some of the most beautiful I have seen.

I don't use clasps, I leave the cords loosely knotted so the people who buy them can make them whatever length they'd like. Considering a lot of folks who buy my necklaces use them for fursuits, I usually leave them quite long.
I always pre-plan my patterns. That's the hardest part of putting together a necklace. . . really the only part :P It's not just stringing beads, it's stringing beads in patterns that are aesthetically pleasing, a good balance of color, and using the right beads to compliment one another.
The leather cording I use can be bought at Michael's, A.C. Moore, and all over the place online. Make sure it's the right size for your beads, though. They have them in many different thicknesses.
I get all my murano-style beads on ebay. There's a plethora of options there, although it takes a long while to find the right ones, for the right prices, and not go broke!

idk, what other fing thing can I say besides this is just absolutely amazing? I'd consult a dictionary,
But then I'd just feel stupid when there were no other words to properly describe your art.
It's just amazing to me. XD If only I could dream in your art. that'd be epic.
