There will be times that I won't post for several weeks. It's always because of body proportions. I had always hoped for my characters to look "compact",
but when I did things like Pandaren Cho, or Kung Fu Panda's Kai, I noticed I always had to cheat the art when they bent their legs. So I created a new
template with this sumo wrestler panda. They may be fantasy characters, but the body clipping from the legs just irks me.
Here are some thing you might want to consider when making a character with long human-like limbs:
-Kneeling, Squatting (like in sumo wrestling)
-Arms crossed
-Raising arms in the air, using 2-handed weapons overhead charged swing (like mining or using a sledge hammer)

"A Sumo Wrestling Panda character in a Blue Mawashi... Nice!" :D
Also, I agree with you there, even if they're fantasy characters, it is best to try to be proportionally accurate with them as you can. Depending on what you want your viewers to see them as. Be it more animal-like (like in Zootopia), or more humanoid looking (kind a like [Disney's] Robin Hood, or Beastars).
Personally, even though I do like Zootopia's animal design, but for the sumo wrestling concept to work, I'd go with the humanoid anthro animal design. [That's just what works best for me.]
It is okay to make bad or off model art from the start, we all gotta start somewhere after all. Moving forward we get better, and that's how we all improve ourselves. Glad to hear that you're working to make your art even better!
Keep up the good work Dude! :)

Thank you!
I also really appreciate the introspection on anthropomorphic anatomy of various media! Warcraft 3 was where it all began for my pandas and bears, and I simply love Disney's Robin Hood! Also, sometimes you have to also do "furgonomics" if you want some things to work, like animals with horns having to put on t-shirts and lay down on bed. Such thoughts always make my head spin XD
When I got into realism territory, my characters actually had human bodies, but it seemed more like humans putting on bear heads, now the body mass has been adjusted to match the heads. Sometimes, it was the artwork of others that convinced me to take that step into changing the anatomy. It sets me back from time to time, but it does improve the logic and dynamic of the body.
Again, thank you so much! Very much appreciated! ^ ^
