Ah, I had some incorrect assumptions about this. So if you don't mind me asking, what does it look like going forward? I know you have lots of PT to look forward to before you've healed in any complete sense of the word. But I also know that the surgery still helped a lot, obviously. What did the surgery do exactly? Do you know? And what will you still need to do after PT has done its job?
A decompression laminectomy is when they remove part of the spine to make room for an issue involving constriction. My herniated disk cannot be removed because it’s so calcified it might as well be part of the spine. So they had to remove the other side of the spine so my nerves aren’t stuck between a rock and a hard place.
It’s things like that that a lot of people don’t consider when losing control of your lower half. The bowels issue on my end was the muscles losing the ability to even move them effectively and that was one of the last signs. The first was urine ting issues when I was around 3. I’m sorry you had to go through that.
