Red is a werefox, a monster by definition. Unusual just by the fact the almost all described Werefoxes are usually female, although there are some male descriptions, but usually styled and weak, but Werefoxes can be so much more, a shape shifter with magic can be as strong as his powers allows them. No wonder in some cultures Werefoxes are high rank demons with high redemption capabilities as Tennou.
To me, Red is a fun mirror where I reflect our triumphs and failures, all what we can be and also what we could be. He lives for love and that's what defines him beyond all the training and the constants likes and misshapes. Love is the only true confort for the living, then how to be alive without it.
