Backstory (brief):
Vera Vea is a second-generation Polish immigrant. Her mother was born in Norway, while her father was born in Communist Poland. The pair immigrated to the United States separately. The pair both settled in the sunshine state, meeting at the University of Florida. They married quickly, having their one and only child shortly after. Vera grew up in St. Petersburg, learning three languages and being spoiled by her parents. Vera’s mother became an educator, teaching elementary and middle school, while her father worked as a laborer and mechanic. Vera’s father would tell her stories about the end of Communism in Poland, as well as the corruption, injustice and atrocities which he’d seen first hand. He would espouse to her the value of morality, justice, and utilizing power for good. He had a great respect for the United States, and wanted his daughter to one day go into public service. When Vera’s interest in law enforcement emerged he encouraged it, pushing her to aim as high as possible. With his prompting, she would seek to join the FBI. Vera’s mother conversely feared for her daughter’s safety. She agonized over the possibility of her only child being harmed or even killed in the line of duty, and pushed for her to take a profession which would keep her safe while still serving the public. Vera was unable to choose, and did her best to do both.
Her working career had begun as an elementary school teacher, where she spent three years teaching third graders basic math and reading. Half way through her fourth year she learned that she'd been accepted into the FBI academy. Since she was a little girl she'd dreamed of her chance to become an FBI special agent. She'd grown up watching police procedurals like CSI, NCIS and Bones. Falling in love with investigating crimes, solving mysteries and bringing criminals to justice. It was only because of her mother, who was a teacher, that she had double majored in education as well as forensics. Becoming a teacher wasn't easy, but she'd done it anyway for the sake of her mother. Attending the FBI academy and becoming a special agent? That also wasn't easy, but Vera was elated to do it, for herself this time. Her expectations were high, and in the winter of 2018 she moved to Virginia.
The reality was nothing like her dreams.
Vera excelled at the theoretical courses. Working well through classes on criminal psychology, investigative methods, ethics and legal theory. Practical matters eluded her. Her accuracy on the firing range was poor. Her physical conditioning was never good enough. She struggled with obstacle courses and hand to hand combat. In stressful situations her ability to command authority or de-escalate was never good enough. Her experience in the academy was defined by a bipolar reality, one where she was the top of her class in one subject and bottom in another. The expectation was that Vera would fail. She would wash out of the academy and have to return to her old, unfulfilling life of teaching. Vera was at risk of having everything that she’d worked for ripped from her, and being sent home with her tail between her legs.
Vera doubled down, and through immense effort improved her practical skills. She spent hours improving her physical conditioning and practicing marksmanship. She taught herself strategies to make up for her lack of upper body strength. Vera even took classes in public speaking in order to improve her ability to project strength through her voice. By the end of the course her scores had improved enough to allow her to graduate. Vera earned her badge, and officially joined the ranks of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Unfortunately for Vera, her poor performance had consequences. She was passed over for assignment to more prestigious positions, and was not accepted into further training programs. She did not become the Special Agent she had imagined herself as. Vera was not an investigator, nor did she get the chance to join any of the FBI’s prestigious and high specialized divisions.
Vera was assigned to the FBI Police. The uniformed division that handled facility security and other more menial work. She was issued a uniform and assigned to the FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C. Her dream job had become just as boring and menial as her teaching job. Instead of solving crimes and bringing criminals to justice, or performing counter-intelligence work, she was little more than a common beat cop. Except she didn’t get a patrol vehicle, she didn’t answer calls, and she didn’t even have the jurisdiction to arrest anyone off the grounds of the FBI headquarters. Vera chafed under her assignment. She knew she could do more. She had so much to offer the organization, if she just got the chance to show it.
Vera eventually got her chance. A new drug was sweeping the nation, one which had appeared from seemingly nowhere. Where it came from and even what it did were poorly understood, but it was dangerous. Rumors spread around the country about how users of the drug changed. Rational, upstanding individuals became brutish and aggressive. Their lives fell apart, but their bodies grew stronger. They became bigger, more powerful, more capable. The drug was categorized as a performance enhancer as well as a hallucinogen, but the truth was completely different. WEREWOLF. A fitting name for the drug, considering that it was derived from therian biological material. The drug could temporarily provide the average human with strength, speed and endurance more akin to a werebeast. It became highly sought after by various street gangs seeking to gain an advantage over their adversaries. However, in high enough doses the drug could transform its users into complete werebeasts, sometimes permanently. New therians were being born, both unintentionally and intentionally, across the country.
Vera knew about WEREWOLF in an abstract sense. She’d watched the briefings and read the information booklets. She was ordered to keep an eye out for it during her visitor searches. Vera had no idea who would be dumb enough to try and smuggle drugs into the FBI Headquarters, but regardless she searched diligently. It wasn’t at work that she’d first encounter WEREWOLF, however. Vera did not live in D.C. The metro area was far too expensive for a young single woman, even with a fairly respectable government salary. She didn’t own a car, utilizing public transit to commute to and from work. D.C. represented the center of her work and social life, but she could only afford to live far to the South, in Quantico. Vera would walk from the FBI Headquarters, riding the train out of the city and to her home. It was a commute she had made hundreds of times. Typically she would change out of her uniform before heading home, not wanting to risk drawing too much attention while riding on the train. One day though, she forgot her change of clothes. One simple mistake would serve to change her life completely.
Vera was walking from Quantico Station when she was attacked. A woman, dressed in a dark coat, approached her from behind and hit her in the neck. Vera didn’t feel the needle entering her skin, nor did she realize that she’d been injected with a massive dose of WEREWOLF. What she did know was that she’d just been randomly assaulted, and that she had a terrible, agonizing pain spreading through her neck. Vera turned to confront her attacker, only to watch as they sprinted off into the night. Vera gave chase. Her attacker was deceptively fast and nearly escaped her on numerous occasions. She chased her far away from the center of town, towards the Potomac River and the edges of the Marine Corps base. It was dark and isolated, a frigid night with no one in sight. Even in heels Vera eventually caught up to the Stranger, confronting them with her badge and gun. She’d finally gotten a chance at action, even if it was while she was off duty.
Vera confronted the Stranger in the woods, completely alone and far from her backup. She should have called 9/11, or sought out the local police. She was out of her jurisdiction anyway. Vera was only concerned with bringing a potential threat to justice, as well as determining their motives for attacking her. It was then that the WEREWOLF finally metabolized. Enough of her cells had been infected, enough of her very being rewritten, for the transformation to happen. Before Vera could make the arrest, question her assailant, or even do much more but declare herself and show her back, she transformed. Her body was warped and turned, her mind shattered and remade by this new beastly being. The Stranger had achieved her goal, and used the distraction caused by Vera’s transformation to escape.
Vera was transformed into a werewolf. More accurately, she was transformed into a weredog. The modified, artificial strain of the therian virus had unique effects, including sub-species which were not typically seen in nature. Fittingly for a police officer, Vera was transformed into a German Shepard. Fortunately for her, chasing the Stranger as deep into the woods as she had preserved her newly acquired secret. Still, Vera’s actions had severe consequences. Her transformation had allowed the Stranger to escape. Vera was left with dozens of unanswered questions, as well as a big hairy problem. Now she has to investigate the Stranger, discover the source of WEREWOLF in Northern Virginia, and learn to control her beastly side. She’s determined to do exactly that, even if it means acting far beyond the authorization of her job. In the end, Vera got the mystery and excitement she had been looking for when she joined the FBI. Just not in the way she had been expecting.

Finally, I'm posting this one. Another character, a big and really fucking hot sequence which I've been wanting to post for a long time. It took me a while to get the character nailed down, but I'm finally happy with what I've written here. Those of you who happen to follow me on BlueSky, you've likely already seen this character as I posted them there before. I was asking for some ideas on the character there. I've finally gotten her backstory put together and written. A big thanks to the help I got putting it together.
Also, yes, I know the uniform isn't accurate. We got some... sexy wires crossed, in this. But I like the look, and it does enhance the transformation if you ask me.
