I finally managed to stay off Fallout 4 long enough to get a picture done (possibly due to the fact I find Far Harbor kinda boring). Of course, while I kinda like the final product, it still seems bland. Even with help from friends on Discord, I can’t figure how how to not make it look like an MS paint drawing. As usual, any advice is welcome.
I had this idea for Whopper for a while now. This should have been a scene in the show, it would have fit in perfectly with Nose Marie’s character. The idea that Whopper spends so much time playing he literally has to be carried away for a diaper change. Part of me hopes this version of the show will get a revival, but at the same time, I fear that Gross humor implementation would be inevitable due to the presence of a diapered character. Just look at the Smurfs revival.
In any event, please enjoy this last piece from 2025.
Visual Description:
Nose Marie, a female brown dog with a small plume of brown hair in a purple short shirt dress with an apron, carries Whopper (a small tan puppy with brown ears, clad only in a soggy white cloth diaper with a safety pin) under her left arm while holding up a clean diaper in her right paw. Whopper has a grump expression.
He says “Hey, No fair! I was still playing!”
Nose Marie replies “Uh-uh, not until this soggy little puppy gets his diaper changed”.
The background is in an orange-yellow wooden room. There is a chest with a shirt hanging out that resembles the one Fantastic Max wore (blue with a yellow circular bib and orange wristbands). There is a shelf in the back that contains a plush of Tuffy, the gray mouse from Tom and Jerry clad in a white side knotted cloth diaper, as well as a cyan pack of “Paw Pants”, which are training pants with red sides with a paw print on front, which has gone unused and covered in cobwebs. To the left is an indoor clothesline with one of Whopper’s diapers pinned on it.

Hmm... I understand what you mean, but it's a difficult question to answer... I guess I have some suggestions.
Maybe it's the way you drew their heads? Eyes do factor a lot into a character's design, and that the brush used for their eye shine just clashes with the art style?
Actually, looking at pictures of Nose Marie: https://poundpuppies1986.fandom.com.....iki/Nose_Marie
I think you drew her eyes too far apart, she lacks eyelashes, the lines which show her upper eyelids aren't there despite her eyelids being lowered, her eyebrows are too thin, and lower jaw looks too thin and unnatural, and possibly her snout isn't really big enough?
I know you probably don't want to draw it point for point, but referencing the source material and how a character looks with their mouth open, or head from a specific angle can help. might be a good idea if you are unsure about stylization.
