Unlike the majority of Grivagaltian cultures, the Dragons worship no deity, rather, they honour their Ancestors.
Offerings include spoils of war, votive ornaments, and ex-voto carved from beastbone; at the dawn of particularly lucrative battles, legions of slaves were offered into service at these millenary, hypogaean temples, their descendants erected upon their forebear's burial ground.
The Ancestor of this warlord, watching over his bloodline from the top of this life-sized bust, seems content with the modest halo of a zephyrflame: the sacred fire that, according to myth, enveloped the Celestial Pearl that fell from the stars in the Age of Formless Fire, from whose emerald marble all the sacred paraments of the Dragons are carved (such as, for example, this warrior's shouldershield). No flame, however fiery, shall cast a shadow or a light upon this divine stone, except the zephyrflame.
Since Dragons have long lost the gift of seeing in the dark, this devout descendant as well had to carry two torches: one to light the darkness of the temple, one to light the darkness of the past.
