Eternal Fugitive
A Slice of Life Story About a Boring Person's Mundane Life Becoming Mildly More Interesting
Poorly Written and Pretentiously Pseudo-Philosophic Post-Transformation Furry Cringe
Chapter 11: Father
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>Overview over the whole story:
Post-transformation slice of life.
A young man in modern day Germany mysteriously and suddenly gets turned into an Avali and now has to live with it. Both a lot and surprisingly little changes in his daily life.
The narrative focuses on post-transformation (the actual transformation itself isn't even described) and follows him through initially dealing with his new body, its senses and needs, and, later on, "normal" daily life.
A handful of other people also transformed into various beings and society is unusually uncaring and accommodating.
Excerpt from this chapter:
"And here's his room," Dr. Petruccelli directed."Come in!" I yelled as the footsteps stopped in front of my door.
"And that's his hearing in action," she chuckled before the door opened.
However, it wasn't her now standing in the door. Instead, the door frame was filled out by a noticeably larger, broad shouldered figure. It had a large jacket slung over its left arm and was holding onto the door handle with its right hand.
Deep breathing resonated from within its chest and throat as it stood in the door.
I had already slid off the chair in anticipation of greeting Dad, but, now that I was looking up at the imposing figure towering and blocking the doorway, my body tensed up and froze in place. All my ears were directed at the figure, I felt that my legs were ready to jump, my jaws were ready to bite, my plumage puffed up. Fight-or-flight had kicked in.
A second of silence. "Why?" [I thought.]
The figure dry swallowed and tentatively questioned "Max?" in Dad's voice. There was a hint of dread in its tone.
Then it let go of the door and slowly began to kneel down. Its left arm reached down to set the jacket to the side.
A dull thump reverberated through the floor as its right knee hit the ground. Another dull thump from the other knee. A strained yet stifled groan from its throat.
It outstretched its arms to either side and smiled at me. Yet its heartbeat was accelerated.
[My thoughts raced,] "Sure, it's got an imposing presence compared to others, but it's Dad! Why are my instincts screaming at me that I can't take that down alone? That I should flee? Why with him?"
It took another awkward second before I managed to fight my instincts and take a small step forward. Then a larger one. A third one.
"It's just Dad!" I internally screamed at my instincts, "not some large, dangerous creature!"
The fourth step felt like a shackle around my ankle finally broke. The fifth unburdened.
I almost crashed into Dad's chest, my arms wrapped around his torso as far as they could reach; which was not very far. I pressed my face into his sweater as he cautiously closed his arms around me.
His breathing was now relaxed, his heartbeat gradually slowed again.
Word count: I aim for each chapter to have around 5000 words.

If you're here only for TF-content, I'm sorry but you won't find anything more than this story in my gallery (however, maybe you'll enjoy my usual art regardless).
