When I was a young boy, I used to read a lot of books about science and nature. One day, I stumbled upon a book discussing things that existed above and beyond our world, among other subjects.
This is when I learned about the so-called "near-earth objects" and the danger they posed to our planet.
I lived in fear of this knowledge for a few days, dreading the possibility of the world coming to a sudden, violent end... until I realized that there was simply no point in worrying about something I had no control over.
That's a lesson that has stuck with me ever since.
Just a small something I drew based on something that actually happened to me as a kid, because I felt like doing something else tied to the real world for some reason... cx
I've been told on numerous occasions that I was apparently a pretty smart kid, and coming to a conclusion like that when I wasn't even out of elementary school yet... well, if nothing else, it has served me well heh
However I also don't like to brag, so I don't usually talk about my positive traits... and in fact I have difficulty accepting compliments on them lmao
Some people think of autism as some horrible disease that makes you stupid or whatever, but honestly? Being an autistic child did have its perks, in amongst all the other crap I had to deal with growing up. XD
Also, I don't draw younger furs often, can you tell? haha

Well when it comes to things like asteroids, while no one individual can do much about it, humanity as a whole potentially COULD. That's what the DART mission was all about after all. And the perils of NOT caring about these things...well that's what the movie Don't Look Up was about.
I went through this too as a child. Space in general is dangerous and creepy and you never know what sort of cosmic killer lurks in the shadows.
Still, if it is any consolation: this is why asteroids in general are continuously searched for, actively tracked and have their orbits simulated by computers. We're becoming harder and harder for rocks to sneak up on - a sentence that sounds deranged out of context.

Oh yeah, there's lots of stuff out there to be concerned about, especially the almighty singularity, and who knows what kinds of things we haven't discovered yet, like angry alien civilizations heh
But I'm not concerned about these things, because all I need to worry about is what's right in front of me... cx
