The great wars of nature reserves. Chapter Six: Responsible and hearts.
With Rollo on the farthing-animals side, they had already made plans with old Fox and Swift, also know how to do it. In addition to the guard dog, Friendly and his two sons, Ranger and his two sons, Rebel, Bolt, Owl, Hollow, Perry, Hurkel and Spike will also help on this mission. The only one who was not allowed to go on this dangerous mission was of course little Bold. Although he is probably a big and strong fox, he is still a little adolescent. But Little Bold protested.
Little Bold: "I don't think it's funny for me not to come along and help! But I want to!"
Vixen: "Take it easy, Bold. There's nothing to begrudge you for."
Little Bold: "But why?"
Scarlet: "You're too young to handle everything, my son."
Whisper: "Yes, and she's right, little Bold. You could end up in the same situation as before."
Little Bold: "No wonder my grandfather left White Deer Park. Even though he was right before, you all don't like him at all."
Charmer: "You're wrong, little Bold. We loved him the way he is, the same way we love you."
Fox: "Charmer has the point, little Bold. Besides, it was my fault he left White Deer Park. If I had just listened to him, your great-grandmother wouldn't have been hurt right then."
Vixen: "That's true. But if it hadn't been for you, Fox. We would never have had more of the fox cubs of the generation on this most peaceful nature reserve either."
Ranger: "Or that Charmer and I wanted to make peace, of course."
Friendly: "I agree with their opinion, little Bold. I've already lost my brother once, I don't want you to suffer the same fate as your grandfather, or your father."
Charmer: "We're not just saying that to be mean to you, little Bold"
Windy: "We wanted the best for you, little Bold. Think about your mother and siblings."
Valiant, Diamond, and Rosa also nodded, agreeing with the adult foxes' opinions. When little Bold had heard everything they said, he sat down and felt a little calmer, despite his angry protest. But still, he was a little desperate and disappointed. But Swift and Windy calmly walked up to this disappointed fox cub with the scar on his left cheek and said.
Swift: "You don't have to be desperate about anything, little Bold. Even if you can't come with me, you can still take responsibility for your siblings and the other cubs in your parents' earth. And someone has to watch over my dear mate for me too."
Windy: "Oh, Swift..."
Scarlet: "I think that sounds like a good idea."
The whole fox family agreed with Swift's suggestion. Finally, little Bold smiled a little happier and agreed. But later that night, all the fox cubs were lying sweetly in Scarlet and Plucky's earth and they all seemed to be sleeping sweetly. But not really all of them. Little Bold has such a hard time sleeping so sweetly, he was panting in pure panic in his sleep. He dreams that he was nowhere. He shouted and screamed.
Little Bold: "Dad! Mom! Dad! Mom! Valiant! Pink! Diamond! Where are you all!"
The sky changed from the dark night to the terrible red sky. And all the trees were shaped into the monster, with big jaws like the sharp teeth of a shark. Little Bold was suddenly terrified by seeing it. But even worse, when he saw his father lying there a little distance from him, Little Bold smiled in relief. He was just about to go to him, until a creepy laugh was heard loudly. And then the Beast appears from the trees.
The Beast: "Whuhahahahaha!!! What do we have here then! A slightly deadly red fox! He fits in as the dinner."
Little Bold looks at how the Beast looked like Swift described and was of course afraid to meet him. But when the cruel Beast saw little Bold he smiled evilly.
The Beast: "Doesn't your son want to enjoy with us?"
And he ended up laughing so evilly. Pluckys turned his head, looked at his son and was both worried and scared.
Plucky: "Get out of here, Bold! Get out of here!!!"
Plucky screamed loudly, while the Beast laughed on. But little Bold frowned angrily and rushed at him and screamed.
Little Bold: "Leave my dad alone, you son of a fink!"
But then someone knocked down little Bold, making him fall to the ground first. When little Bold had risen a little, he saw who it was. The big wolf who smiled evilly at the fox cub and said with his coldest and harshest voice.
The Wolf: "You will never see your father again! Just as you have never seen or met your grandfather! Hahahahahaha!!!"
Then the wolf pushed little Bold, until he falls into a black pit. Little Bold could hear the wolf's continued laughter, as he fell blindly down. But suddenly his falling stopped and he began to float instead. He looked around wondering why, until lights began to shine in front of him.
And soon a very strange fox creature appeared, and this fox is bright orange-red, with a scar on his left cheek and his ears were hanging a little, but his eyes dazzled this curious fox cub and smiled warmly and tenderly at him and said in a spirit-like voice from the red fox.
Bold: "Hello, my grandson! You may not know who I am? I am Bold, father of Plucky, and I am also your grandfather."
Little Bold was somehow surprised to see and meet his grandfather for the first time. But still he did not understand how it could be that he would be in his dream world.
Little Bold: "Grandfather? But they say you were dead a long time ago, grandfather!"
Bold: "That's right, little Bold. But you also carry my blood, and you have inherited from me. In the same way that my son has inherited from his grandfather."
Then little Bold understood what his grandfather meant and began to realize that his grandfather's good soul spirit is in his fantasies. But still he was a little puzzled by his grandfather's appearance and wondered why he had appeared so suddenly.
Little Bold: "What did you want and why did you come here?"
Bold: "To help you with your self-confidence, my grandson. You are not the only one who is unfairly treated, or afraid and insecure. I know your family was worried about what happened to you last time."
Little Bold: "Yes, and now I can't do anything. What if my family was right! What if I can't make it this time!"
Bold: "Of course you can."
Little Bold: "But what should I do? Help me, grandfather! What should I do?"
Bold: "Beloved grandson, if you really care about the lives of your family and friends and you wanted to save your father, you must follow your heart within you."
Little Bold: "But how will that work? I am just a cocky and thoughtless and can never be the bravest fox in all of White Deer Park."
Bold: "I know what you meant. I was just like you, when I was a young male. But over time, I have pondered over my parents' word of oath. And I finally realized that they were right. That's why I brought your grandmother to my birthplace. Not just to do what she wanted, or abandon her on purpose. But also to follow the heart of love. I loved your grandmother so much, and I love my family who forgave me and are proud of me."
Little Bold could hardly believe his ears, he felt more and more touched by his touching speech and realized that the big Bold was right. But then his grandfather says one more thing before he disappears.
Bold: "I'm also proud of my son, Plucky. And I'll be proud of you too, my grandson. If you wanted to believe in the oath of the animals of farthing wood, follow that in your heart... your heart.. your heart..."
His voice became quite weak, after he disappeared. Little Bold finally understood what his grandfather was saying, but then he heard a bright and friendly voice. It sounded like Silvia's voice. And it was very much hers. When little Bold had suddenly woken up and noticed a wide-awake gray young vixen. He yawned a little first, then he asked.
Little Bold: "Silvia? Are you awake?"
Silvia: "I couldn't sleep. Then I heard you talking in your sleep."
Little Bold: "Oh, it was just a nightmare. It's nothing to worry about."
Silvia: "For me, I think so. You're worried about your father, aren't you?"
Silvia took little Bold out of the earth and went away for a while. But one who had one eye open and watched as the two adolescents left their family behind for a while was of course Windy, who smiled completely mysteriously at the two cute and young couples with their different colors on their fur.
Windy understood what was going on, she naturally didn't want to interfere right now. Instead, one of her eyes closed again and fell asleep with a good smile. Both Silvia and Bold sat up on the hill and looked at the stars that twinkled so beautifully in the darkness of the night. But then they talked.
Little Bold: "My grandfather came to me in my dream. He told me some wise things, which are really true. He probably thinks I should save my father and follow my heart of love and justice for my family and friends. And that's exactly what I should do."
Silvia: "But is that so wise?"
Little Bold: "I have to do what I have to, Silvia. Otherwise I'll never be like my father, my grandfather and my great-grandfather. They follow their hearts, they trust their friends who help each other to survive. They believe in the oath, I believe in it too."
Silvia: "That sounds very reasonable. I wish my family was like yours, then nothing would have happened. I lost my mom from began of fall, my two brothers are missing. I don't even know if I'll see them again."
Little Bold: "Oh yes, of course you can. They've probably made it, they'll come here. If they've disappeared, it doesn't mean they're dead. You can't deny hope, Silvia. You have to have confidence in your heart, the same thing as mine."
When Silvia heard and listened to Little Bold's words, she looked at him with her eyes, noticed his serious face of honesty and began to smile so lovingly at him and like this strong fox with his scar on his left cheek. Even though she is Russet's little sister, she is the same age as Little Bold.
Silvia: "You're right, Bold. But if you're going to the old sawmill to help Swift save your father, I'll come with you. The more we're together, the more we can make it."
Little Bold: "But do you really want to come with me?"
Silvia: "Yes, of course. Besides, we two have something in common, when it comes to courage, companionship, loyalty, protector, love and friendship. And you know what else, little Bold? That even though you have a scar on your face, you're still so cute for me."
Little Bold: "Really? Do you think so?"
Silvia: "Yes, absolutely. But what do you think of me, anyway?"
She even put her thin right paw on his big left paw. Little Bold was of course a little puzzled, but when he looked at her half-closed gaze and smiled sweetly at him, he felt something he had never felt before, which made him smile a little out of his modesty.
Little Bold: "Well... hehehe... Even though you're a gray vixen, I still think you're so lovely. Especially the day we met."
Silvia smiled very softly and lovingly and gave him a soft nuzzle on his left cheek, with her eyes closed. Little Bold's modesty was slapped away and replaced by pleasure, his eyes were closed and relaxed with their first romantic love.
But far away from the two young loving foxes, old Vixen stood and watched them a little, she smiled at little Bold and Silvia, before she left. When she got home, old Fox had just woken up. He noticed his mate that she looked so happy somehow.
Fox: "What are you so happy about?"
Vixen: "Well, nothing special. Except that our great-grandson, little Bold has fallen in love."
Fox stood up out of a little surprise and stared at her honest gaze and became curious.
Fox: "Really? By whom?"
Vixen: "Silvia."
Fox: "Silvia? Russet's sister? But isn't that right..."
Old Fox was of course about to complain, but old Vixen interrupted his protest and says.
Vixen: "But Fox... She was born this spring, she's the same age as little Bold. Also, Russet told me that Silvia has inherited her mother's care and love."
Fox: "In a way. But do you really think that both she and little Bold are interested in each other?"
Vixen: "Russet suspected it for a long time and I believe her truth, when I saw them on the hill near Plucky and his family's earth. She has a crush on him. Just like our daughter has a crush on Ranger, even though he's a blue fox. And Silvia is a gray vixen."
Fox: "Yes, but it was a little different back then. I blessed both Charmer and Ranger's relationship, after Scarface died. But letting a young vixen who's gray, seduce my great-grandson would feel strange in a way."
Vixen: "What did you mean then?"
Fox: "Well, what do you think their future cubs will look like, for example? And what do you think will happen if her grandfather finds out that she's living with my great-grandson?"
But when Old Vixen heard what he said about the matter, she smiled a little happily and calmly walked up to him and nuzzled softly on his right cheek so lovingly with her eyes closed. Fox enjoyed her soft nuzzling and closed his eyes and felt a little relaxed.
Vixen: "Oh Fox. You don't have to worry. They'll be fine. Even though the Silver Foxes are our new archenemy, their cubs will make peace, the same thing Charmer and Ranger made peace for long time ago. It's called love and friendship."
Fox: "You're right, Vixen. Let's hope for the best."
But then their most peaceful and passionate romantic moment was interrupted, when they heard a scream after Old Fox. When Old Vixen had left his right cheek, the running hare, Dash, appeared. She stopped right between the two old fox couples and panted a little.
Dash: "Come on, Fox! It's urgent!"
Fox: "What's happened? Has the beast attacked us in farthing land?"
Dash: "No, worse! Little Bold and Silvia are gone!"
When old Fox and old Vixen heard what Dash said, they were both shocked and surprised. A moment later at Plucky's family home, Scarlet lay crying, while old Vixen and Diamond tried to comfort, Valiant and Rosa sat next to their aunt, Windy. The mole, Mossy, and the female badger, Shadow, was there too, as well as Dash and her two hare cubs.
When old Fox heard from Windy's story that they only went out to look at the night sky and talk to each other alone, she naturally thought that they were going to come back into the earth again. But she thought wrong, because she didn't know what they were up to.
Windy: "I take responsibility, Grandfather. I should have been secretly watching them, instead of falling asleep and letting them be alone. But problem is they look so cute together. So please, forgive me."
Fox: "Windy, it's not exactly your fault. You couldn't know what they had in mind."
Mossy: "Where do you think they've gone?"
Fox: "They're probably headed to the old sawmill."
Shadow: "It's terrible!"
Dash: "We better stop them, right now!"
Fox: "It's too late. In this case, they've already gotten there."
Mossy: "What are we going to do now?"
Fox: "I don't know, Mossy. But I want you, Dash, to run after Whisper and Russet, and tell them to come here at once."
Dash: "Understood!"
Fox: "I'll think of a solution myself."
Old Fox sat down and pondered over solutions, while Dash ran off to get the others. But at a reasonable distance, the Beast was standing hidden behind the trees, apparently eavesdropping on their conversation and grinned wickedly and then walked away.
The Beast: "This is something my godfather will be very interested to hear. Hehehe..."
