Lore: History.
Salem grew up in a somewhat large village bordered by a bountiful forest on two sides and a massive lake on one other side. Born of a high ranking huntress in a familial unit called a pack. Said pack was a loving and nurturing home, the village active enough, the forest harsh but fair, and the lake bountiful.
That was how things were, before the tragedy... On a rainy evening, a horde of Orcs and Goblins sweep out of the forest without warning. They overwhelmed the village militia and huntresses after a protracted battle, which allowed a majority to escape...but Salem...she was caught up in a rushing crowd of escapees and separated from her pack.
She was forced to flee into the adjacent forest in the pouring rain, pursued by a splinter of the horde...where she was rescued by her Benefactor...
