Someguy Sketches 205 - Slugtex and Rubbrake
For the first time in three years, I've drawn something new for the Pokémon Sky and Sea series! Let me introduce you to two Pokémon from the Ongak region: on the right is Slugtex (Normal/Flying type), and on the left is a new design for Rubbrake (Fire/Flying type).
Slugtex's body is made of an unusual substance that can be stretched like rubber, but is durable enough to withstand piercing or rupturing. Popplio will sometimes blow them up and balance them on their noses for practice, which Slugtex also enjoy.
And like I said earlier, Rubbrake is the evolution of Slugtex, and this region's dedicated fast travel Pokémon. The lighter patch on its stomach is its flame sac, which it uses to inflate inhaled air and fly around. To hunt, it drifts down towards unsuspecting Pokémon and forces air into them until they can't move, where it then pops them with its fangs. As for the design updates, Rubbrake now sports more fins for better air control, and its segments now point towards its tail (the part that goes forward when it flies, since it propels itself by exhaling flames).
