Deep snores can be heard from inside a cave, a silver dragon is curled up on his pile of
riches, sleeping peacefully. A small scurrying can heard from the mouth of the cave, and one eye
opens as Wiz starts to wake up. He lifts his head and looks around, curious to see where the
sound is coming from. He looks around and suddenly a cry rings out from behind a stalagmite.
He lets out a low growl and says,
“Who's there?”
He starts to get up, ready to slice whatever is inside the cave. Suddenly, a girl limps out
and yells out
“WAIT, please don’t hurt me!”
Wiz was a bit confused, he didn’t see any sort of armor, and also seemed to be much
smaller than the ones who came to steal his gold. In fact, she was dressed in what seemed like
peasant clothing, not in something a noble would wear.
“Who are you, and why have you come here?” Questioned Wiz.
“My name is Juliet, and my friends dared me to come here and…” She looked at Wiz in
the eye, and suddenly looked away.
“They wanted you to steal something from my cave?” Wiz asked, and Juilet looked
surprised
“Yes… and they also wanted me to… try and kill you with this” as she says this, she
reveals a small dagger that she was holding behind her back. After she said this Wiz let out a
hearty laugh, and said
“You really thought that you could steal something from me? AND also kill me with that
tiny thing? Young one, I’m surprised you even came out here on this fool’s errand”.
She looked embarrassed, but quickly said “I know it was stupid but they insisted and I
honestly just… really wanted to see a dragon. People talk about dragons like fearsome creatures
that want to pillage and kill, but I didn’t believe them and just wanted to see one for myself!”
Wiz smiled and rose to his full height, completely towering over Juliet, and said
“Well, now you’ve seen one, and those stories you mentioned? Not true. Yes I do have
my stash, but I got all this a long time ago… I don’t go out of my way to ransack villages and
kill humans for no reason. Anyways, now that you’ve seen a dragon, you can go back to your
village and tell your friends about this. You interrupted my nap and I would like to get back to
sleep”. Wiz laid back down as Juilet stood there, startstuck.
“Go on, shoo” he said to her, and he closed his eyes. Juliet, shocked at what she just
witnessed, started to walk out. But she suddenly fell down and cried out, “Hey Wiz, can you
please help me?”
Wiz opened his eyes and looked over to Juliet, and said “Are you ok over there?”
“No… I think I did something to my ankle, it hurts to walk…” She choked out. Wiz got
up and walked over to where she was laying, and leaned his neck down and looked at her ankle.
“Hmmph, it looks like it's broken… if you want I can take you back to your village, since
it's probably best not to walk. I’ve been needing to go out and fly recently…”
Juliet looked shocked, and exactly proclaimed “Yes please! That would be amazing…”
Wiz just smiled and leaned down, angling his body so she could easily get on without
harming her ankle. “Theres a small nook on my back, you should be fine if you just stay in
there.” She climbed onto his back and got herself settled in.
“Ok, I think I'm ready.” She sounded a bit nervous so Wiz simply said
“Don’t worry, I won’t let you fall out. In fact I have done this before with someone a
similar size to you so you’ll be fine. Anyways, hold on tight!”
Wiz took to the skies, soaring through the clouds with precision, with Juliet on his back
in complete shock and awe. Eventually she yelled to him,
“Hey, I see it! Just down there, right below you.” Wiz started to glide down to the village,
and landed right in the town square. The townspeople started to scream and run away from Wiz,
but he didn't care and simply leaned down to let Juliet off. Two humans ran up and tried to drag
Juliet away from Wiz, but she pulled herself free and yelled out, “EVERYONE STOP, he helped
me get back here when I messed up my ankle in his cave. He never even tried to hurt me when I
went into his cave, you all don’t need to be scared or anything.”
She looked back at Wiz and said “Thank you for bringing me back here, and can I come
back to your cave sometime?” Wiz chuckled and responded with “Of course, just make sure that
your ankle heals up before coming back. I don’t think I’ll be coming here though considering
the… reaction from everyone.” He suddenly felt something hit his hide, and he turned around to
see a young boy with a bow pointed at him. He let out a low growl and the kid ran away in terror.
Juilet just laughed and said “It might take a bit, but I think I’ll be able to convince them at some
point. I mean you kind of just look a bit scary…”
Wiz just laughed at that and said “I don’t think im that scary… But I should be heading
back soon, I was going to meet up with someone soon. So get better soon, and I’ll see you
around.”
And with that, Wiz took off and flew back to his cave, as Juilet was taken to her house by
some friends
