Zol is a master alchemist, so I like to think this cooking is also a potion that cures poisoning or gives temporary immunity to poison.

Which is fortunate because Zol is/was a poison wind globadier, so his cooking is probably poisonous...

i actuallly imagine that skaven would be excellent cooks if given access to sanitary conditions and a good selection of fresh ingredients. rats are opportunistic omnivores like humans, but they have enhanced smell. humans still have more taste buds (especially supertasters like my family, and chefs end up being disproportionately supertasters). i have a pretty shit nose though, even by human standards.

still, i think skaven only eat gross things because it's the only thing they had. they can't afford to be picky, but if they can smell poison well enough to survive skavendom, i bet they would rival any human chef

Maybe this was Zol's plan to make sure he was never asked to cook again?
