This is a sketch I did to practice drawing. Another great example of my ability to over complicate a simple thing, this was originally supposed to be shilouette style, but I did so well on the lines I decided to flush it out completely.
This is drawn off an actual picture of me at the range that I always liked, I pulled the background from another range picture, and did the clouds myself. I replaced my Colt Navy with my Colt Walker, because it's ridiculously big and more fun for art. I attempted to illustrate the clouds and grass with a light NW wind, which fits for the jacket. Viewer is facing west.
One purpose of drawing this, was to help me practice drawing digitigrade legs, I certainly feel better about it than when I started. It also helped me get back into drawing clouds. I feel I still need practice with tails, hats, and landscapes. My ability to draw an outfit from reference was better than I thought, I'll probably do more of that.
Coloring this will be interesting. I originally intended for this to be at or near twilight, so most of the details will be lost to shadow. That's why I wanted a proper scanned copy here first. I chose scattered cumulus and cirrus clouds for their vast altitude difference, and the contrasting color that produces during twilight.
