Coming in at number 19 in my favorite video game series, and possibly my first video game series I've ever played: Sonic the Hedgehog

The evil Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik is capturing the innocent creatures of Mobius and turning them into his robot slaves to build his ultimate utopia: Eggmanland. It's up to our hero Sonic, a supersonic blue hedgehog who's cooler than cool and faster than fast, to stop the mad doctor's evil desires. Blast through at warp speed as you venture through grassy hills, ancient ruins, busy cities and dangerous factories, chasing Eggman as he seeks out the mystical chaos emeralds, 7 magical jewels containing unbelievable power. Gotta go fast.
