Reference art of Makani Kanoa, my nerdy half-parrot, half-eagle bird boy.
Makani is a nerdy bird, a bit shy, but well-meaning; he is from a tropical archipelago originally, but he moved to the mainland with his mom when he was fairly young as she got a job teaching at a magical university. He is a kind boy, but can get in over his head, and his glasses are often slipping down his beak and need to be pushed back up. He is smart and curious, always eager to try and solve problems and solve mysteries.
As a wizard from an archipelago, I reflavor his spells to have a more tropical bent to them, and I like the idea of him specializing in weather/air/water magic; as a Pathfinder 2E character, I'll frequently have him archetype to druid to pick up some additional magic along those lines, like Tempest Surge or Pulverizing Cascade, so he has reusable magic like that that he spends in most encounters.
I have played him in a number of one-shots and short adventures, but I've never gotten the chance to play him in a full campaign. I am hoping I get to do so at some point, because I quite like both his character and his design; he came out very nicely and I really like how he looks.

Description for the text readers:
Reference art of Makani the Parrot, by Catniped. Makani the Parrot is a tall, half-parrot, half-eagle, with green feathers over most of his body. He has yellow feathers on his chest, bright green feathers on his chest, darker green feathers on his back and the backs of his wing-arms, and a dark green streak of feathers along the side of his face. He has dark blue eyes, and a yellow beak with a black tip.
The drawing illustrates him both clothed and unclothed, front and back; the rear view cuts off his tailfeathers, with a cutaway showing his tailfeathers' pattern separately so they don't obscure his back or the back of his legs.
His feathers end at his knees, with his lower legs being covered with light yellow scales and skin. He has black talons, with three toes in front and one on the back, like a bird of prey.
Instead of having normal "hands", he has wing-arms, similar to a rito, with finger-like feathers on the ends of his wings.
The clothed version of him shows him wearing wizard's robes; this includes a light blue mantle, and actual robs underneath with a sky-like pattern with clouds on them, reflecting the fact that he's a weather wizard. The cloak and mantle have fellow trimming.
He is wearing a giant blue wizard's hat, light blue, with a darker top, and a cold patern around the bottom of the hat and on top of it around the rim. It is oversized (as wizard hats should be), being quite large almost to the point of being comical.
He has a bright orange and yellow cloak/cape, that is wrapped around his shoulders on the front and goes down his back all the way to the ground to drag on it a bit. The cloak has a pattern on it, with yellow lines in the orange part, and then the orange outline of a palm tree on an island on the yellow part.
His staff is also depicted in the drawing, made of white wood, with a orange orb at top, reminiscent of the sun; it is surrounded by the white wood, giving it an appearance of the sun being partially covered by the clouds.
