Hale heaved yet another heavy sigh, groaning dramatically.
Wyze paused to look.
"Dearest apprentice," she crooned. "Do you tire of your gift of life so soon?"
"Such misery!" Hale practically shouted in exasperation. "I can't help but wonder, Master, if I would not be better off where you found me!"
"Very well," Wyze murmured, a deep smile in her voice as she continued on their path. "We may put you back."
---
Hale and Wyze going about their important business. They have a very casual relationship, and early on Hale was not used to such drudgery as traveling to and fro across the land performing miracles. The land of the North is vast, and Hale's feet are very small, and oh how his hooves ache! And did he mention it's quite cold? Too cold for such lengthy journeys - in the dead of winter, no less! Wyze, you are a torturous and uncaring master indeed!
Wyze found Hale half submerged in a frigid lake during a blizzard, unable to climb atop the thin ice and moments away from freezing to death. Her powerful magic saved him, and - as repayment for this good deed - he now follows her about griping about every little thing under the sun (though it is mostly just lighthearted empty words). Slowly, even the lighthearted hating dwindles, and he can't help being a bit more positive day to day in Wyze's company. And, admittedly, he is quite a good apprentice.
