By Uhrwecht reckoning Hildr comes from a time period around 150 years after Astrid’s ascension, during a general renaissance of art and culture across the continent. Following a long period of strife in the wake of the disappearance of the north territory and many local clan feuds in the resulting power vacuum, the lands began to collectivize and usher in a relative peace with great kings of fond reknown. Striving to build a legacy for themselves and their country, and to be remembered as uniters and just rulers, this council of leaders brought swift revival to peaceful means and bountiful harvest, and people across the continent flourished in the opportunity to create new traditions and lore that survived to shape modern Uhrwecht.
Hildr is a warrior for certain but in a more ceremonial fashion than her first sister, a champion of contests of strength and rites of skill rather than pure battle (which still took place, being it was a relative peace). Living in such times where fighting was a commodity of status, Hildr’s work outside of throwing down made her a matron of combat second only to crafts of a halcyon sort. For this reason she does well taking care of the Valiant Hall, the home realm of the Valkyrie sisters, serving a dual role as a healer learned in medicine and care and as the blacksmith who crafts great weapons in the furnances of the Valiant forge. Like all her winged sisters she can use any weapon as needed, but in addition to spear favors a dark iron hammer glowing with deep runes enchanted by Gunnr. Her attire pattern of choice reflects the experimental art which arose during her lifetime, a motif of a time where things took on wild, animalistic forms and abstract patterns brought about by the musings and wandering thoughts of people now free to wonder about nature and ideas rather than survival.
Sharp in wit and tongue but gentle at need and playful in demeanor, Hildr appears most often to warriors requiring mercy, giving a comforting presence that belies the skill with which she weilds her hammer, eager to paste a fool who tests the patience of her nerve or impedes her relative forgiveness as a Valkyrie. She’s often charmed by the mortals she ferries, as many modern aspects of Uhrwecht culture trace their roots from her living years, and it impresses her to see the language, arts and stories that were codified during her life given new interpretations and regard in the current era. Considering herself the caretaker of the Valiant Hall, Hildr is most often found in her own realm and visits Uhrwecht or the other realms least frequently of any of the sisters, but still affords herself the time to watch and ponder the evolution of the land she once called home.
(...and her favorite berries are lingonberries!)
