Story time:

I do a substantial amount of DMCA work on behalf of my friends to remove their content from non-authorized sites (usually other e621/rule34-type websites). This lead me to finding NSFW AI chatbot services that had me and my friends' characters on them. These days, I routinely check these sites and when I see people I recognize within the dragon community I reach out to them and handle the takedowns on their behalf since I didn't want my character on there, my friends don't want theirs, and I may as well extend that courtesy to anybody I happen to see.

Around a month ago I found one of DarkenStarDragon's character Fate. I did my usual routine of shooting off a note and explaining what I found, how I found it, and why I do it. He wanted it deleted, so I sent in my usual take-down like I've done many times before. Jump to last night when I found another one. This time it wasn't just his character, but the creator had his username too. Normally once I have permission once, I just remove any additional bots without notifying the owner to minimize stress/hassle, but in this case I had the tiniest sliver of doubt so I reached out again just to confirm.

While waiting on a response, I was talking to a friend about how weird it was... using someone else's character... pretending to be them. I was SO confident it was an imposter I even said:

I sent a message to the artist since I have that tiny ounce of doubt but I've deleted AIs of their character before
But it's near 0%
Like if they changed their mind in a month and put their own character up then I will do a backflip and upload NSFW

That is actually me hahah. I’m never opposed to the existence of my character’s bots, but I gotta be the one who have a control over it, cuz I want the bot to be as close as how I picture him.
