"Faster than light!"

You can probably tell by how much I commission artists who have the Sonic art style, but I love this franchise. I think what I like about it is the games have this sense of adventure and not knowing what's going to happen next (for better and for worse). I also think it's interesting seeing different takes on characters across the franchise by the fandom.

Spectra here is another inhabitant of The Arcaverse - which is a digital world based off and loosely follows the rules of retro video games. Think if the cast of Smash Bros. all lived in one big, connected, fleshed-out world together. The characters within are often loving homages to classic retro games with their own twists and turns here and there. It's no secret who Spectra is an homage towards!

This super-fast feline is what you'd expect from a 90s/2000s mascot-with-attitude. She's an impulsive free spirit with a love of adventure and a strong sense of justice, though her tendency to be a bit reckless often gets her in trouble.

Spectra herself doesn't have any one place to call home. She has made a lot of powerful villains very angry, so is constantly being hunted down by those looking to claim the bounty on her had. She takes great pride in seeing that bounty's value go up, but it has made finding a place to rest difficult. She usually arrives somewhere, sets up camp, does odd jobs or helps fight the villain of the week, then runs off to the next place before she gets too comfortable. As much as she enjoys what she does, she would be lying if she said things didn't get lonely after a while. At least smashing up robots helps keeps her too busy to think about it.

Some Extra Tidbits
-She does have a Super form of her own, which can be activated by collecting seven Cores of Control. These Chaos Emerald-equivalents are small spheres filled with seemingly infinite cosmic power. Wielders of these Cores need to have both the physical strength to not be immediately disintegrated and the will to not go mad with power. There are also more than seven in existence, but it's unknown how many there truly are. Trying to use more than seven will cause Spectra to go violently insane until the form eventually wears off. Due to how taxing the Super form is, she is often exhausted and needs a while to rest after using it.

-She enjoys photographing places she visits and is a bit of a foodie. If you can run all over the world, it doesn't hurt to try some of the local cuisine.

-It's not clear if her boasting about being faster than light is true or her being boastful. Same goes for having nine lives.

-Preferred music is classic, 2000s, and 90s rock as well as 2000s-sounding pop.
