A redesign of one of my TTRPG characters, Anarath, from
Cenaxi's ongoing Exalted campaign Call of the Depths, done by the fantastic
sakkiye.
Anarath last seen here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/53049353/ and https://www.furaffinity.net/view/61973298/
This is not a retcon. Both Anarath and Ulaia (who doesn't have an updated reference yet) have changed appearances a lot since that piece was done. As of a few weeks ago, Anarath has died, but her soul was taken into a place called the Depths, to a specific region where her soul was reborn anew in a neverending hunt. With some help from the denizens there, she was able to regain her sense of self and eventually reconstruct herself a body, tethered to the world above as she was by her soul's vow to her widowed wife. Despite this, the experience has changed her irreparably - in some ways, she is a different person now. Her body has been changed completely to account for this.
The spider motifs are a representation of her cultural identity. She was born into the body of a dragon, and still identifies with that label in many ways, but she is also a threadspinner, one of a race of nearly extinct sentient spiders that wove with the fabric of the world itself. She was culturally adopted by them, and now she looks more like them.
