Another nonsense pose to show off the body in my reference. Maybe he's dancing? Finally with hair! Throwing a smirk to show off those teeth. First reference with pen lines, I like this style!
The most important part of this sketch is to show how the chest colors look. Notice the main grey patch roughly follows body lines. Along the chest muscles, down the front of the ribs, around the stomach, tapering down between the legs, and traveling half the inner leg before reaching back to the bottom of the tail.
The red chest tuft sits right over where the throat, neck muscles, and collarbones all meet. This is also where the grey spreads out to the arms, and up the neck. The grey neck stripe follows directly up the neck muscles, in a V shape, to the jawbone, and coats the underside of the jaw to the chin.
Unfortunately, the underside of the jaw is not visible here, and the head position makes this a little difficult to see. You can look at FlowD's reference of me for another example of the throat stripe.
I chose the arm positions for a reason.
The left arm rotated back 90 degrees clearly demonstrates the shape of the underarm pattern, traveling halfway to the elbow joint. It also shows the flat grey underside of the forearm, and the coloring and pads on the hand.
The right arm again shows what the arm patterns looks like without any twist. Stripe on the outside, coming from the elbow to the hand. Spots only on the top half of the forearm. Exact spot count is included.
One leg is bent, bearing weight. One is outstretched. This shows how the leg pattern lines up from the front, in different positions. Spots are fully visible on the front. No spots on the paws. Stripe extends to the paws, but not the toes. Same as the stripe on the arm for the hands and fingers. I have another post addressing leg spot locations, which are exact in this sketch.
Nose spots are now included. I have decided to use this number, and generally the same location and size for them. Another good look at the eye marking. I intend to primarily draw and wear Creature with long red hair, like my own. No hair is also acceptable.
