No the quotes are not exact: it is translated from Swedish.
An idea I had in my head for a long time. All the movie Simba ask Kiara if she is listening to him and being over protective. He is not listening to her.
Kiara did listen. She took the wisdom to heart and found her own way understanding what the great kings of the past is telling her and seeing that Kovu was not evil. My guess is the half reflection in the water is their way of telling her what she feels in hear heart is right. Instead of choosing to run away with Kovu she goes back to save her home and family.
Today that message is even stronger for me. Even if the world is cruel being kind is still something you can choose.
I also made her in the style of Lion King 1994 and my version of her.

I completely agree with you! Simba did what he could as a father and to follow Mufasa's steps, but ultimately became an abusive, overprotective monster! Not only he was aggresive to Kovu but also to his own daughter! Even Timon and Pumbaa were afraid of him! But I guess all lions are like that.
Did you see My Pride?

Not abusive or a monster but too overprotective- he has trauma (not an excuse but explanation why he is that way) . I understand him more as an adult but he needs to deal with that - I am glad Kiara could talk sense into him and he understand he does not need to be so scared. I am not defending his action and I hated him for being that way until i understood. Also poor Kovu - a mother trying to make him into a weapon- even as a kid I thought that was crazy.
Oh yes and read "I hope so"

He was abusive by lying to his daughter and breaking his own promises, and maybe even gaslighting her (another common trait between lion parents). I'm glad you're one of the good guys, Team Kiara.
I mentioned My Pride because it's another animated series that shows how terrible parents lions are. Such a pity it was cancelled in the worst way possible, with a cliffhanger, much like Woody's Roundup.

True. True. I was so mad at him for that -even if I understand his concern it is not ok in any way.
Weren't they working to get s 2 going?. I am very glad for I hope so though. If you have not read it : it is in the same universe as My Pride and with the creators ok they made this. : https://ihopeso.thecomicseries.com/.....#content-start

That's what keeps me from watching TLK2. It makes me so angry!
It is? I started reading it yesterday, and so far, it's pretty good! It does give me TLK2 vibes (in a good way), and it does feel a lot like My Pride, but a bit toned down. Season 2 was supposedly left on hiatus, but it's been 5 years, so I believe it was cancelled. Hopefully I Hope So, no pun intended, doesn't go through the same fate.

I like it - and i try to see it needed to be like Romeo and Juliet (- the ending) and Simba and Zira needed to be lie the families. Since TLK 1 was based on Hamlet (which still piss me off cause the ghost-dad tells Hamlet Claudius killed him - but Mufasa does not tell Simba???) . I like the message of TLK 2 that we are one, that sometimes even kings need advice, and parents can listen to their kids and why it is important. He was about to loose Kiara forever - but SHE did listen to him and that is why she goes back.
Indeed. However, Simba was so monstrous, I'm afraid if he managed to find Kiara after she ran away because of Kovu's exile, he was capable of giving her a no holds barred beatdown just because she said he'll never be Mufasa. Again, lion dads are like that, just like in My Pride. Also, when Kiara and Kovu stood between his pride and the Outsiders, Simba looked so enraged and ready to slash his daughter in the eye if she tried to interfere.
