As one might expect of college students, Edmund and Morty both found themselves busy. As Enigma's apprentice, Edmund was often put through rigorous training and study so that he could take the mage's place, either out on missions or as a substitute teacher when Enigma was off-plane.

Similarly, between his studying and the training required to earn his self-defender certifications, Mortimer also found his time occupied. Outside of their morning runs and the Trailblazer campaign they run together with their other classmates and peers, it grew difficult to find private time together during the semester.

So when they did, they took full advantage of it. With Mortimer cradled in his arms, Edmund flew to a peaceful field in the mountainous region surrounding Magistrum City, one he found en route to an assignment from his mentor. It was picture perfect, with a cool breeze to balance out the warmth of the morning sun.

With no pressing responsibilities, and a whole day to themselves, they chose to bask in their companionship together. All they needed, in that moment, was each other.

Though we're no longer in February, I still wanted to share this romantic, Valentine's Day timed piece from the wonderful  Marsel-Defender. Edmund and Morty will always hold a special place in my heart, and they deserve some love during the season of romance.
