The days are full of work, the nights are full of play. Imua and Forl were a bit apprehensive about sticking around with the Bades, rather than head East to get the permission of the Djinnists of Detroit. But the Moonim Bades were happy to take them in after a winter of help and so, after some talk, the three agreed to stick around.
And so for the next 5 months they've helped around, learned to fish, partaken in the booze, sex and drugs the Bades are well known for. It wasn't soon after the spring broke that Gila would choose to head back West, even if apprehensive and curious about the East. After a few more months of rowdy nights and busy days, they fit in just about as Well as Rara into their new home.
Rara did disappear for a few weeks at a point, Imua's not sure what happened but she seemed to come back and life continued on. Imua had thought about whether or not she really saw Rara's eyes as blue. Hard to remember after months of late nights, booze, drugs and orgies, It's probably not important.
*But by late summer the fishing competition of the local clan is to be held and with next years Shiner dance on the line, the new members of the Moonim Bades row out to put their newly learned fishing and boating skills to the test!
Imua has some fish scales to show off for the neighbors
So this is perhaps the nicest of the Alternate Endings
This one posits that, at the end of Chapter 11, A Winters Rest from the long Hike, Imua Forl and Jat would instead choose to simply continue living with the Bades rather than Head Eastward towards the Djinnists and Lesavira. Essentially ending their quest of approval amongst the 3 tribal peoples of the Great Lake early.
The life of course is a bit more hedonistic, but unlike her prior sad alternate fate with the Dragon've Paradise, the pleasures and vices belong to Forl, Jat, and Imua and is for them to enjoy with a community while they work together to live well on the shores of the Great Lake.
Moreover, unlike the Dakoner End, Forl wanted to settle down, Jat wanted to see the Fisherdrakes and so I am sure those two would be happy or at least content to live amongst them! This future is only 5 years in the future though.
Of course in this ending Imua never really learns much about Lesavira so it could be argued she is living a lie, nor does she and her pack get a place that is truly their own to live as they will. Also this is only 5 months in the future rather than 5 years! Long enough for Atavism to take place.
It's a happy ending but one that doesn't really get to the root of Imua learning more about the world as she would do thanks to the Djinnists and Lesavira, as well as the broader "Affairs of Wounded Gods" That she is tertially caught up in.
