He is a very good boy who stayed with his owner, Selene, even after she was foolish enough to sell her soul.
When Selene was human, she found little Dante dumped on the side of the road as a puppy. She rescued him, raised him, and they became inseparable. When the Devil later tricked Selene into becoming a demon, Dante followed her down to the pits of hell. By hellhound standards Dante is barely considered a runt, but surprisingly he is able to grow spikes and horns when feeling protective of Selene, traits which are normally only exhibited in powerful hellhound breeds.
