Like a tidal wave, the rioters rushed Lightshow, and all she could do was run. She scrambled up one of the machines, then leaped for the walkways in the overhang. She kicked the air, swinging just enough to avoid a gunshot, then she climbed up onto the railing. By the time she got on, she already had four men running her way. She ran away, but where she was going was blocked by three men. Space filling fast, again, Lightshow dropped light firecrackers where she was, and leaped from the hand rails for the rafters.
Lightshow swung again and clung to the rafters, and people started throwing things up at her. She then sensed it, letting go with her hands. Her body swung from her legs as another gunshot missed her ears. At the bottom of her swing, she just saw people and dropped more fireworks from her belt. Fire crackers, smoke bombs, whatever she could grab at that time. After doing so, she missed her chance, and couldn’t grab another part of the rafters. Swinging back down again, her instincts kicked in again, and she let go of the rafters completely. Another bullet missed her, but fire and smoke exploded beneath her. The best she could do was tuck her legs in while she flipped toward the ground. She landed feet first and rolled on the ground, but rioters were starting to surround her. She ran for an open area, but only met a wall with windows too high off the ground. She ran, and jumped up the wall, but her claws couldn’t even reach the window sill.
Sliding back down, Lightshow turned around and saw the mob closing in, tools of all kinds drawn as weapons. The last gambit she had was the rockets on her bracers. She held her arms up like fists, watching them all like crazy. She acted like this was going to be an epic last stand, but she wasn’t ready, deep down, no one really is.
Then, the window above her shattered, slamming on the ground came a figure with an aura of chilling mist. The rioters backed away from this newcomer, but the cold brought Lightshow a comfort. A fox clothed in a hood and blue fireman’s equipment. He glared at them through blue goggles as ice built up at his feet.
“Leave her alone.”
Is it just me, or is Dsizzle getting REALLY good at these?
