This sparked a memory of a printer that's been in the back of my mind for a while: the Brother VC-500W. It's more from the technical side, but I think it's neat that someone managed to make a thermal printer that is able to print color, at least when using their special paper which isn't cheap (defeating the purpose for something like this). It's at least less wasteful than the portable photo printers that use three pieces of colored plastic film per picture.

That is a very good visualization of how your world was just thermal photography for a while.

I'd gotten a cheap thermal printer at wal-mart on a whim, printed a couple things and since then have more or less forgotten about it, but mayhaps this will remind me to dig it out and find some uses for it. My original intention was to use it for printing easy reminders or references without the need of writing things down by hand.

The fact of it being thermal and not using ink is definitely the most appealing part of these, no question. l3
