Nic has a few human friends that he tries to keep in touch with, and thankfully with the internet and the marvel that is video calling, it makes it quite easy to do! Piper also likes to be polite and try to pop into frame to say hello to all her boyfriend's friends.
Of course, most of Nic's human friends are very inexperienced in the matter of interacting with giants, let alone the quirks that some of them, like reindeer, have. And Nic has known Piper for so long that he tends to forget that a 'giant pair of eyes, glowing from reflected light as they suddenly emerge from the darkness' is actually a pretty terrifying sight for most people.
He still thinks that the rule established shortly after of him being not allowed to join video calls in the future unless the lights in the room he is in are turned on is maybe a little excessive, though. :V
