This one was done a few years ago but it’s still one of my personal favorites. It’s the first artwork I ever commissioned and it felt awesome to see my character brought to life in such a beautiful and detailed way.

The way Nick’s world works is a long story, but it has humans and anthropomorphic animals (anthros) both populating the earth. Nick lives in the city of Angsbury, which is populated exclusively by anthros. He is the laidback lead singer and bass guitar player for a rock band. He is a kind and sensitive soul, wanting to make the best impression he can with as many people as possible.

His story is rather a stressful and unexpected one. One night, he was suddenly kidnapped and brought to Dream Come True, an eerie underground facility full of simulations run by a cult believing a fake world is less painful than the real world. Despite supposedly protecting the occupants from the outside world, the facility’s staff treated them terribly. Nick noticed this and desperately aimed to escape. He took martial arts classes and was taught how to handle a gun throughout his life, but he almost never had any experiences with actual danger. Trapped in a large dangerous facility without knowing his way around or who to trust, Nick was scared of the unknown and for his life. He figured he had to make tough choices in order to escape.
