I owned a few nope ropes over the years. More like a doofus ropes - corn snakes are not the smartest noodles in the bowl. Can confirm, snakes will eat and eat and eat. Overweight snakes is actually a pretty big issue in reptile/herp rescues.
Is she meant to be any specific breed of snake? She really has the thickness that larger breeds get, looks really good on her.

Yeah she's meant to be some variant of an anaconda. Though I took some liberty in the pattern design to minimise the time to draw her scale patterns, which is often the case for alot of these characters where I have to draw them lots.
I have seen snakes being quite Derpy with little to no conception of when to stop eating and wanted to portray some of that with Vess.
