Here is a sort of dust pan that I made that is intended to collect ashes and burning charcoal out of my forge when I am done forging for the day. I usually collect them and rake them into a stainless steel turkey roaster and put the lid on it so they cool down so I can re use the unspent fuel.

This was made from some sheet metal I had on hand and a the stem for the handle to fit onto was made from a piece of 5/8ths railroad spike.

The handle is sassafras wood.
