Sigyn's father used to wield the Orb of Winter before passing it onto her as part of her coming of age ritual. Historically it's served as a guardian figure for its owner, protecting them from harm while also guiding them to new knowledge and historical artifacts to preserve in ice. However, Sigyn seems content ordering it to make ice for her drinks and running it into people's groins at 40 miles per hour.

Even though it's bound to Sigyn and thus will protect her from life-threatening dangers, it's still sentient and will happily argue or let her take a beating if it doesn't like her orders. Day-to-day respect needs to be earned, and Sigyn's habit of calling it the stupidest nicknames ever doesn't help its opinion of her.

Will she learn her lesson this time? Probably not.
