After the come-back of MLP, Pony-mania has swept trough the net. My budies and I have been talkin' about the show when we first tuned in Sept 17. And we all could agree, that Discord (in our own personal way) is gonna die.

Oh man, the Mortal Kombat theme just hit my brain like a freight train (and I don't even like those games XD).
I love all the fanart that's been popping out of Discord. I look at his design and I don't know where to start! Artists like you make his design look easy and accesible <3 Great work.

In all seriousness, Discord isn't "Dark." He's Chaos. Ever heard of the Alignments? There is no "Light" or "Darkness" because you can use either for both good AND evil.
There's Lawful-Good, like Celestia, where you are good to the point it's almost too good to be true.
There's Chaotic-Good, like Pinkie Pie, where, you're a good person, but you do good things in very strange - or even bad - ways.
Lawful- and Chaotic-Neutral are similar, but Neutral, and not good OR bad. I'd say Trixie is Chaotic-Neutral while somepony like Lyra is Lawful-Neutral. One isn't really evil, but they do bad things, while the other isn't a good pony, but they do good things.
Inversely, there is also the Lawful-Evil. Yes it's an oxymoron. A good example are corrupt politicians - they're not good people in any way, but they ACT good.
And finally there is Chaotic-Evil. I'm going to say one thing: Discord, is, by his very definition, Chaotic. He is also Evil... or is he? He just wants some fun - it's just his idea of "fun" is considered "bad" so he's automatically "evil."
No I honestly don't think you gave two shits and read that. I don't give a damn about whether you give a damn or not. I typed this for the people who DO give a damn.
tl;dr version: Discord isn't evil, he just wants to have some fun! Maybe if SOMEPONY just threw him the best suprise party ever, with some excellent pranks and hilarious CHAOS (parties are, by nature, chaotic. Unless it's a wedding), then maybe he'd be good!

Now that I think about it, I'd honestly put Discord in Chaotic Neutral. I mean, yes, he is going against Celestia right now, but not because he's bad. It's because Good is in the lead. If Celestia and Nightmare Moon were still fighting, I doubt that Discord would side with either. He'd have his own agenda, to cause as much chaos as possible. He doesn't care who wins, as long as things go crazy. Right now, though, he's just seen as evil, because there is no other contender for that spot at the moment.

It sure turns the entire series on it's head when they revealed that Discord actually ruled Equestria before the Princesses.. which means it wasn't their parents or something whom did previously, as many thought until now. Now consider Winter Wrap Up and the way the ponies manage their ecosystem.. you realize that Discord BROKE REALITY so badly during his rule that they HAVE to do such things or else their world would fall apart. That's freakin' deep and a lot scarier then you'd imagine for the setting..
...that's something I never thought about. Wow.

Heh, I appreciate the feedback, but I totally love settings with indepth lore to 'em.. it's why I've wasted so many countless hours in various fantasy worlds (Vana'diel, Azeroth, Sosaria, Faerun and now Equestria), either reading stories or playing games or both. This new series actually does have 'rules' to it's imaginary world, and that's something that makes if fascinating on a more subtle level.
Oh, and don't think he's evil? Go back and listen to the part where Celestia is describing how he was making all the ponies suffer during his reign. There's SCREAMS AND CRIES in the background as she does. Discord doesn't just get off on the chaos, he enjoys the pain it causes. And that is what makes him so damn dangerous.. even though he puts on a silly act.
(yes, I'm the kinda person who will pause/rewind episodes and listen or watch carefully in the background for little touches like that.. it's what makes this show so great, that attention to detail)

I may be late to say how I can't wait for part too, but I'm not late to say how epic of a trailer or poster this looks. I mean, this looks like an awesome idea for a poster. It's just a shame that Celestia doesn't do much when it comes to something major like Nightmare Moon or Discord. I'd love to see what she could do.
