I always have to laugh... Red Falcon never, ever had any resemblance to any kind of bird, unless of course you count the bird-shaped weapon pick-ups that appear throughout the game. :-P

I do have to say though that the work here is extremely well done.

Neither did Black Viper have any kind of resemblance to a snake. XD In Operation C she was a human-sized cyborg, in Hard Corps she was a gigantic alien with human face, and in Contra 4 she was first a praying mantis-like insect, then a giant monster similar to Red Falcon here.

Actually, Black Viper first appears as a alien cell inside a liquid glass container while the humanoid cyborg from earlier serves as her bodyguard. She never appeared in Contra: Hard Corps because what you've described was actually refers to "Mother Alien".

Actually, "Red Falcon" is nothing more than just a pseudonym/nickname for Emperor Demon Gava and the same should probably go to Emperor Demon Dragon God Java/Paraslug (the chestburster look-alike alien) as well as Gomeramos King (the heart). Red Falcon SHOULD only refer to the terrorist organization/extraterrestrial army because calling Gava (the three-headed skeletal alien) "Red Falcon" just sounds kind of dumb and confusing to be honest.

nope, just i think, the best games were (are) Contra (the first, of course ) and Hard Corps (which epic )
i played third contra on MD and with emulator, but it is really boring for all levels and bosses...
i just want moar action and crazy situations with weird bosses created by mad developers on shrooms %)

ps: hardest stage (for little me) in HC was third level (junkyard) - really, ten years ago fourth level (jungle) was unreacheable for me and my friends %)
