Things I learned when doing this:
-Smooth bristol does NOT take water and ink well. Neither does it take masking fluid well.
-Fully scaling a dragon is difficult and time consuming, but impressive.
-I NEED TO USE MY MAGICAL COLORED PENCILS MORE.
-It is very hard to force yourself to use other colors to shade something(also known as color theory), but when you can make yourself do it, it looks fantastic.
-Some techniques that work with watercolor also work with ink(for example, the grass at the bottom works, but salt does not).
-Putting crackle paint on rocks is a very good idea. And when you put crackle paint on something, it makes it appear darker than before.
This was done on just a scrap piece of bristol I didn't want to throw away. And became this guy. You know, he actually looks a bit like how I imagine the spirit-dragon in Eldest, when Eragon is turned more elf-like. A great black dragon shimmering with all the colors of imagination.
