Derek looked down at his body as the roboticizor's tube rose to reveal the newly transformed Mobian to the world. His once soft fur now replaced with cold, hard metal. He moved his body in various ways to test out his new form. The reprogramming he had done with the machine had worked! He had his own will and thoughts and was subservient to no one. With a laugh of abject elation he began to get to work once again.
His swords scabard had been melded to his new form. It seamlessly matched his body so that it did not look out of place at all. Pulling the blade from it Derek was impressed with its new form as well. Instead of cold steel, it had been transformed into a beam sword. The greenish blue energy crackled and seethed with power. With a grin Derek went to work on the room that he knew would be repaired and reprogrammed once he was gone. He made sure that it would take a very long time for that to occur.
Broken glass and cut wires were strewn everywhere. Slash marks were on the walls and the machines themselves looked to have been hacked apart so they were nothing but metal shavings with glowing hot edges. Derek stood in the middle of the destruction and smiled with an almost evil grin. Yes, this would do quite nicely indeed. He had never felt so invigorated. With one more casual look around the room he turned and made his way out of the building.
He used the same ducts he had used to get inside in the first place. Even in his new metallic form he was still as stealthy as ever. His body seemed to emit a sound dampening field on its own. Derek of course knew this since he had programmed in that little feature. He had also programmed in a cloaking device. He couldn't use it indefinitely but it could be activated for a short time. Enough to sneak into and out of a place with no one being the wiser. He made is way out of the city and back into the forest and towards home.
Would his friends resent him for what he had done to himself? Probably. However Derek did not care. He knew they would be apprehensive at first but they would come around eventually, especially once they figured out what a useful asset he could be. The most important thing was that he was alive and would be for a very long time now. He whistled a happy tune as he made his way through the forest thinking of the future he now could experience.

Even weaponized EMPs are so common in sci fi that I think its safe to say that a talking animal who is smart enough to reprogram and reconfigure a robotic transformation device would take them into account. The machine was able to even detect an already inanimate object, a sword, and alter it into a beam weapon... LOGIC EVERYBODY. Lightn up, it's a short Sonic fan fic, not Moby Dick.
Bah, I was just trying to toss out tips to make the story more interesting, Logic has never diminished anything, it makes stories more believable and acceptable to a wider audience. I usually expect someone who takes the time to paint an image to actually think about the story behind it a little, I was just trying to add interesting obstacles, rather than just his friends rejecting him because that's expected in every TF in existence.
Ah well I wont comment on things like this anymore, sorry to diminish the fantasy with my logic.

Thanks, I find it makes the story more fun, to apply things that fantasy/scifi tend to ignore, for example a werewolf goes on her first deer hunt, only to get a nasty parasite from untreated meat XD. It's little obstacles and touches that make the stories more unique and interesting.
Logic never diminishes anything? Why does Superman have powers? How did Peter Parker and Bruce Banner get powers from radiation instead of cancer? How can a bird with a human torso even flap its wings? Logic is the bane of fantasy in many ways especially in a setting like Mobius.
