Alrighty! So you guys remember me talking about that coin collection I started back about 3 months ago? Well here it is so far! Most of these are nothing special, just the silver down there at the bottom, but let me give you a breakdown of what everything is!
1. US Wheat Pennies
These are pennies that were produced between 1909-1958, and have a pair of wheat symbols on them. Most of them are worth about 2-4 cents, but there are some out there than can be anywhere from 50-100 bucks! I haven't been lucky enough to find one of those yet though. =p
2. British Pound
I found this mixed in with some quarters the other day, but I think it's actually a 10 cent piece (10 pence) despite it's size. xP
3. Nicaraguan Cordoba
Again, I found this weird coin mixed in with some quarters. I believe this one is actually a penny despite its size and color, and is worth a whole whopping 0.0004$ USD if it is a penny. xD
4. South African Rand
I don't know how this little guy made it all the way here, but it's a penny from South Africa. It depicts a pair of birds perched on twigs on the front, and some man on the other side that clearly doesn't look African, more like some old safari man. >>;
5. Common Wealth of the Bahamas
Again I'm not sure how this little guy ended up here, but it's a penny from the Bahamas. It depicts a starfish on one side, and a ornate pattern with a flamingo and a swordfish on the other side. Very pretty.
6. US Indian Head Nickle
These were produced between 1913-1938. They can be worth a lot in good condition, but they're difficult to find. This one isn't a good year or quality, so it's only worth about 35 cents, but there are some that are worth a few bucks or more!
7. Canadian Money
Ooof coarse... soooo much of this ends up in the US. I figured I'd pluck any of it I'd find just for the fun of it and to see how much I could get. Canadian money can be annoying in more ways than one though, because as a coin collector looking for silver, you can find that quarter you thought was silver actually turns out to be a Canadian quarter. They look like silver from the side, but are actually made out of something else. x.x;
8. Newer Silver US Quarter ???
I found this quarter the other day, but there's something strange about it. It's a 2003 Arkansas quarter, but it doesn't look like it's made out of the usual stuff. Comparing it to another quarter of the same type, it's definitely not the same metal, because there's no copper ring around the one I have here, but it makes the normal sound a usual coin would make. It actually looks like a Canadian quarter would from the side. I'm hanging onto it because it might be a special collectors mint, and is in perfect condition. I doubt it would be more than a few bucks right now though if so.
9. US Silver Coins
And here it is, the cream of my crop, silver! This pile contains Roosevelt Silver Dimes produced between 1946-1964, Mercury Silver Dimes produced between 1916-1945, Washington Silver Quarters produced between 1932-1964, and a Silver Kennedy Half Dollar produced between 1964-1970, however anything after 1964 only contains 40% silver as compared to 90%, but it still has some value. I also hear there are nickles produced between 1942-1945 that contain about 35% silver as well, but I haven't found any of those yet as they are hard to identify, these coins make a different sound than usual when struck. They can be difficult to find, but are pretty easy to spot and identify when you see them.
Anyways, this pile of silver right here is about 140$ on the current market, so that means a succeeded in my first goal as a collector to reach 100$! Woohoo! ^.^ I think I might set my next goal at about 400$, then 1000$! I would just die to find a super rare coin worth more than that though, and that's about it! Look forward to more interesting coins in the future! Wish me luck! ^^;

Very Awesome collection frisky! the actual Year<1964 money is a pain to Find. and thatnew silver quarter i do believe they made a few just in the begining. des it Sound like the Silver quarters when they hit eachother? that nice high pitch ringing sound. hehe. and i see that you have what would appear to be a nice plushy hyena Guarding your Monies while they are out! =D! haha. and you find the right people who are interested in that stuff and i would say you would Have at least 400 bucks. cause even the years on the Wheat pennies. you could have Special mints of them the little D's and p's Underneath the Years and such. same with the Silver monies. like i said they have a "going" price people (sellers) would Pay for them then they have a "Sellers" Price.. people would Sell them to you for them.
That's certainly quite a collection! Nice hoarding going on there!
As for the supposed British pound, I think you're right, because it certainly doesn't look like any pound coin I've ever seen. Pound coins are smaller and thicker, are a pale golden colour and are excitingly weighty compared to other coins. The real giveaway is the Queen's head, of course.

#8 sounds likes something I've heard of before. Not gonna say anything definitively, especially since it seems you really know your stuff. But Since you said it looks like it's made of a different exterior metal, but still makes the same noise as a regular coin; I would suggest that the coin is possibly electroplated. I've seen some coins in lab that were electroplated in semi-rare metals, two of which a chrome plated and a silver plated quarter (both coins looked like different metals than a normal quarter, but made the same noise when dropped).
Yes, I would hold onto it. It might not hold a lot of value among official collectors, but it would do well as a gag piece or just something interesting. And of course there's the added value of the metal added to it.
Also, to confirm if it is electroplated, do you see any small indentations on it? Often in electroplating, people use simple alligator clips to hold to coin to the battery, which would leave faint markings.

Nope, there's no indentations or anything on it. I'm almost wondering if it was purposely minted this way. Speaking of gag pieces though, someone did pull a rather nasty prank one time that is obviously aware of silver coins. They took some of that silver thermal paste that is used for computer processors and coated the edges of the coin, with that stuff on there it really looks like an actual silver coin until you touch it and realize it's not. x.x;
