The ring mail is of my own creation, it's a basic 4-in-1 weave (meaning every ring has 4 others in it) that repeats endlessly! I've looked carefully at other armor, and this is the simplest form I've seen (but it's still pretty commonplace). While in Mexico I compared my bracelet, which is made with the same pattern but only 1" wide, to the original armor suits worn by the European invaders, and... a match! They used 4-in-1 mail too, but I bet it took them more than 10 hours to make the 10"x12" piece I'm showing here ^_^
