This page was done for my old web page and is a little better than the version that appeared in Furrlough.

Disclaimer:
1. "Stosstrupp" is not a World War 2 comic, although you can be excused for mistaking it for one. It takes place in a not to distant future on an alternate "furry" Earth (the same world "Rossweisse" takes place in) with a history that mirrors ours but allowing me a bit of artistic license.
2. Much of the art sucks, especially the oldest stories which were drawn when I was very young for the pre-internet fanzines of the day. Often the story isn't so great either. Still, it had a good following in it's day, so some people must like it.
3. Don't take it too seriously. Some things might not reflect reality, some technology might not work the way I depict it, some things are missing that should be there. This comic is old and was drawn by a very young me, and I can't fix it now.

The dance of war
The leaders have sung their songs of pride and prejudice.
To the crowds crying for a reckoning over some perceived threat.
The families have given their gifts of home,
To the young men who give their service in hope of glory.
Industry has given its gift of arms and armor,
To the nations who dream of conquest or revenge.
The players are set the monsters gone and the preliminaries finished,
All that remains is the deadly dance of the armies.
They dance to the music of artillery and pain, famine and disease.
Loss and destruction are all this dance of madmen brings.
Into this I send my child where I have gone before. I came home scarred.
Return her whole is what I ask. This is a parent's plea.

Loose half your population and maybe you don't care so much about what's going on in Europe any more. In 2008 when the Russians went into Georgia, there was a bunch of talk and strongly worded letters, but in the end nobody was willing to help much. The US does sell some supplies to Europe, but they aren't ready to go to war with Eurasia. For that matter, Britain, the US's closest European ally isn't directly involved in this war either. Even France has trouble getting their population to support the war since they aren't in any direct danger from Eurasia, but still they have contributed a large force.
