Because Ponies mixed with other great things makes even greater things, at least in theory. I don't know if MacReady and the gang would've fared any better against the alien menace if they had magical talking ponies on their side, but hey, it would've at least made for an interesting tale.
I had this done partly because... well, just because, and partly because I'm in the midst of writing a fanfic that crosses MLP with this movie (and the other two fine films that make up Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy, Prince of Darkness and In The Mouth of Madness. Look them up, they're fantastic). After much editing and self-doubt, the prologue and first chapter actually made it onto Equestria Daily. I'm very proud of that, though now I'm wondering just how long I'll be able to post it before it gets too... graphic for the site (on that, quick note to folks I know: most of you probably will want to steer clear of it. Just sayin').[/pimp]
