I know... i need to focus on my commissions and auction as priority, but... i couldn't help but test out an xmas gift i got for myself since I haven't used the medium in.... fuck.... 8 years now? I'm trying to get myself back into practice with watercolors. This is the first pic I've done using such paints since I was in high school senior year. And.... haven't really used it since then.... I wish I knew where my old watercolor set was so i can have a wider variety of colors rather than just mixing a bunch in a cheap $4 kit with only one brush. ^^;
Anyhow, if I get back into practice with these, I may hold auctions mailing full color pics like this (in more detail ofcourse, but sadly on 9 by 11 inch watercolor paper instead of 11 by 14 heavyweight sketch paper).

I'd say it came out very nicely, given the lighting/shading that you applied on Barrin's hair, shoulders and backside. :) Especially considering that you only used one brush with a limited set of paints and that this is the first watercolor-based pic you've done in a very long time. I honestly think you'll get back into practice with it shortly if you make a few more watercolor pics like the one of Barrin you made. Good luck!
Also, in case I forget, have a Happy New Year's holiday this weekend!
