Well here's the next part, going from one cliff hanger to...
Chapter 15
When Carla woke up it was still night, which was a good sign, it meant that her fainting episodes were getting shorter, she was really thirsty for some reason though which was strange for her. She took a look around and saw that she was on the couch with a blanket over her, the mess that she must have made was cleaned up and she could see a new meal of corn cobs and mashed potatoes already made for the two of them.
“Man,” she thought, “Dashed sure works fast.”
She got up off of the couch, stretched her tired body, and shouted, “HEY DASHED! I’M AWAKE NOW!”
There wasn’t an answer; she shouted again, no reply. Worried she got up and began to search the entire house, he wasn’t there. She threw the sliding door open and called out for him, still no reply. She also noticed that the sky was cloudy, which was pretty odd considering that it was clears skies when she and Dashed walked home. “What is going on,” she thought, and just then the power went out, all the lights went black and the usual noise of the generator was silent. The entire house was dark, she couldn’t make out a single shape, her eyes haven’t adjusted yet. “What the hell is going on?” Carla thought. After her eyes adjusted enough to see where she was going, she carefully walked to the basement. She didn’t know why but she had an incredible feeling of unease, and added to that she the house that she had spent so long in was beginning to look so different. All the shadows contained secrets, the path was darkened, and more then that her mind was telling her something wasn’t right. Braving her fear she slowly climbed down the stairs and discovered that her suspicions were well placed, the generator had no gas. She reached for the gas can and poured more fuel into the generator. She noticed the can was pretty light; of course she didn’t give it a second thought because she already had a tough time keeping track of every can: she had literally dozens of them. Just then out of nowhere lightning arced across the sky filling the room with a brilliant white light, blinding her. She fell down clutching her eyes, outside she could hear the approach of a massive storm. Blinking away the tears that started to come up, she tried to stand up but her legs were wobbly and she fell to her knees. A splitting headache came up as the thunder rolled outside; the rain was coming down in sheets outside. All of a sudden an excruciating stomach pain was upon her; she dropped, curled up, and started clutching her stomach. “This isn’t like me,” she thought to herself, “what the hell is going on?”
She stayed curled up for that for hours until she heard footsteps upstairs, “Dashed! Dashed come down here something is wrong!,” she yelled franticly. She heard something heavy hit the floor and the sound of panicked footsteps rushing downstairs. She was never as happy to see Dashed as she was at that moment. He somehow got filthy in the short time she was out, but somehow that made him look even sexier. “Carla!?! Are you ok?” he said with obvouis panic in his voice.
“I…I don’t know,” she replied, “Sometimes I faint randomly, usually for ten hours or more but thankfully I wasn’t out for too long this time.”
“Wait, are you telling me you don’t know?” Dashed said
“Ya, I don’t know why I get these fainting attacks, sorry for not telling you.”
“That’s not what I mean at all, Carla you’ve been out for three days”
