When I started drawing again and posting my work 2 years ago I was as ignorant of the furry/art community as you could get. I soon started having people ask if I could draw things for them, Icons, fursonas, what have you. I would respond saying that I wasn't ready to take commissions at that time but I would send them a price list when I was. This went on for some time (I'm pretty dense at times) then one day It dawned on me that these people were wanting this work for Freeee!! WHAA, ooohh!

I wonder how many of them had some sort of seizure or other mental distress because I expected them to pay for the work?

Don't get me wrong, I may have done an occasional freebie if I was asked right. (But Not Now !)

Cool, though it reminds me of a friend who used to surprise me and several others with random artings on holidays.. I always loved that, since it was usually some of his best work.. He doesn't do this anymore, unless it's some yiffy pic of a random furry gal in the fandom. It's bleh really, cause the past few times I've commissioned him, it's been rather sub-par.

In a way, it makes me rather jealous of the people getting gift arts from the guy, 'cause those have been better quality than the art I freakin' paid him for. x_x

Drawing, like music, is an easy art to give away for free. For example, have you considered that you gave this away for free? In a sense, by allowing people to see what you draw, you've already shared much without asking for payment. I'm thankful, for one. Keep on posting!
