Hahah they say that creativity stems from boredom and that in our day and age where we have constant stimulation with the internet and television, it's hard to be that bored anymore

That makes sense actually. I remember having a philosophy teacher ask how many of us have had great ideas in the shower, same thing here, eh? I should try and get bored more often haha.
