Right, so, I decided to join the Gearheadfurs challenge of how to do a retro-modern version of the 1958 Packard Clipper.
So, here it is.
A bit of explanation... Rather than drawing it as a sports car, as seems to be popular, I took a look at it as it was in 58. The packard Clipper was a luxury sedan, not a sporty coupe (That was the Packard Hawk that took that role), and as such, I gave it a very sedan shape, unapologetic in the fact it is a sedan.
Large, powerful, muscular. I made sure to keep it with the blunt, tall nose that is popular today, as well as the high beltline and otherwise similar stance to most other large luxury sedans.
I didn't go a full retro copy ala 2008 Challenger, but rather a very modern vehicle with strong classic styling cues (More like the 2010 Camaro basically...) focused more on the grille and the chrome trim all the way back. I had noticed that the 58 was very slab-sided, which worked well with the sort of look that is popular today, so that was easy to carry over.
Tail fins, however? Not a chance. There is no way they would ever be on a modern car. So... nope. I did hint to fins with the slightly raised tail-lights, but nothing drastic.
Also
I hate drawing wheels.
I'm just throwing that out there.
