No, not bloodthirsty at all. By the way, lovely assessment of his character, Dice. Very tactfully put.
When we reach that 1000 fan milestone, we plan on having a 'double update' week alongside some tumblr uploads of various panel art that's been defaced over the course of several streams in the past (call it comedic relief). I already painted a couple of wallpapers :P
That isn't the only approaching milestone though. Grayscale's first birthday is coming up. We made work on it 'official' when we bought the domain and hosting package, which was March 17th. Funnily enough, I've drawn 52 pages to date and there are 52 weeks in a year so by all rights I've met my goal quota, albeit I did not draw them as regularly as a page a week and I certainly didn't manage to stick to the update schedule but... well, I'll take that as a measure of success and productivity anyway.
No idea what I'll do for the birthday. Maybe a mini-comic! A funny one.

He can't. >:P It's a pathetic precautionary measure and he knows it, especially now he's seen how big Nine is. He doesn't need to go dragon or use his element to kill. He COULD use his bare hands... but as he says here, Nine doesn't seem that bloodthirsty. A lot of their exchanges involve calling each other's bluff and a weird degree of forced trust.

I guess it depends on how you define openly. Their civilizations don't frown on homosexuality the same way ours does. In most respects Nine and Dice are openly gay in that anyone who knows them knows they fancy the men. However, I will say that Dice has very different expectations of him than Nine, so he is more reserved about it, while to Nine saying 'I'm gay' would be about as revelatory as telling someone he has brown hair.
NO, not one of those stories. They're both aware of their own sexualities (though Dice is possibly in denial that he has a libido at all, nevermind gender). There won't be any non-consensual manhandling either because frankly I find those situations pretty much kill any seed of romance there once was.
