design history class? Perhaps is just that lack of art electives on my part but that sounds made up (though I doubt it is), yet art history does not. Why is this? I am perplexed.

design history is just title. It covers the history of type, lettering, print, book formats (ie. scrolls, manuscripts etc.), compositions, etc. It also covers various art movements utilizing these things, both traditional art and advertising art etc.
