You know, I kinda like this about web comix and GN's...
The artists are usually young and their style changes and improves more rapidly than say, syndicated newspaper comics.
Look at the earliest Peanuts (Schulz), B.C. (Hart), and Doonesbury (Trudeau). The art of these examples changed more slowly. Schulz and Hart's early work was already fairly polished, but you'll see a gradual style change.
Trudeau's early stuff was really goddam crude, but the saving grace for Doonesbury was that it's content was far more relevant and topical than most gag-comics.
My latest bookmarked furry gn is Anthro Kai. The kid has been doing it for barely more than a year and the art has improved so much. The story and characterizations are pretty much manga- formula, but I'm going to watch for changes as the artist matures.
Sometimes I miss when Kyotoshi and Grey had pointy chins. :3

yeah, i remember being at a convention years and years ago and being told the art looked 'shiny' and i couldn't tell if they were actually commenting on my inability to shade at the time or if they were just being a squealy otaku who called anything they liked 'shiny.' i asked for clarification. it was the otaku thing.
Good April Fools strip!
I felt a mild shock at the start because I'm going, "What?! A huckster Chuian? But they are suppose to be helpful and selfless!"
Then I'm going, "Oh-ho! The little fellow saw a remake of Napolean Dynamite and got the inspiration to make a quick buck!"
